Ocean Street Apts

Image
So, for those who have been praying with us for a place -- WE GOT IT!!! (rejoice!) Here is a map of where we will be living in Carslbad, the place is pretty retro (like this one) but with NO consistent noise, construction or hassle. The rent is a little more than we'd like, but hey -- we're living on Love and Prayer baby! We'll make it! Jay's drive to work will now be a quick 10 min drive, on NO freeways, so, anyways, just wanted to share that ~ when we get down there with our camera I'll snap a tone of photos, for now, it's just getting ready to pack that'll be the excitement. I'll keep y'all posted on other haps, as soon as details show themselves (re: my US status stuff) Oh, and Ed was discharged from the hospital yesterday and is resting at his sister's place until my mom gets back from Toronto next week. Love and Hugs!

Update, and an "UP-DATE"

My step-dad/mom's husband Ed came through his surgery on Friday well, he's breathing on his own and will soon be discharged from the hospital to stay with his Sister for recovery --- I know many people have been praying for us, so thanks sooo much! Means more than you know. Also, Jay and I should hear back today, we put an application into a little place in Carlsbad, it's called Ocean Street Apt's, and true to the name, it's right beside the ocean. It's really cool, I'm trying NOT to get too excited, just in case, but if we do get approved, it'll be "on the blog" and I'll post some photos and share some more ... ------------------------------ On a different (an more uplifting note) I had my first "crop" of pottery completed on Sunday. For those who don't know, David (who used to work with Jay @ Old Time music, before he got transferred up to Buffalo Bros. in Carlsbad) is my Pottery Teacher. He is a Californian/Los Angeles nati...

Ed's Song

My mom's husband is in the hospital right now having triple by-pass surgery, and I was thinking about how many people I know, who are suffering health issues, and how we so desperately need the healing touch of God, (in a variety of ways). So, I was playing the guitar and this song came out, a song for healing and for Ed, who I am praying is in good hands and getting well every minute. http://www.inspiredcreativity.net/SEAmediapage/Eds%20song.mp3 love, a. ---------------------------- ps ~ here are the lyrics: I don't know what to say I just pray be with me now holy one be with us now Gods' only son how can we keep bright our light surrounded by night though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will not fear for you are near you are near I don't know what to say I just pray heal us now beautiful hands heal all of us now by your power your mighty hands pour holy oil restore restore ...

Hanging onto life by a three corded rope

I went to a wedding once, (I'm pretty sure it wasn't mine) where the pastor spoke about rope. How, as we go through life with our spouse, we are intertwined with our partner, in the fashion of a rope. The rope is somewhat o.k., but rather shaky and easily undone by pressure. However, if we were interlocked and braided with Christ, as we went through life, we would be stronger in the face of any circumstances, because we have woven God into our chain of life. I don't know why I've never forgotten that ananlogy, but I can safely say that I am certainly thinking of it today. Today, I felt like a bomb went off in my life, and after the commotion, I am still, hanging on. Now, I could be slighly melodramatic, but here's the situation: I have been trying to nurse to health a certain problem of the feminine kind, for the last three days, in the hopes that I will NOT have to go to the doctor here and have to spend over $100 on the visit and treatment (I'm not kidding, ...

It's been muggy, sweaty and hot here the last week. In San Diego they call it "Monsunal Moisture" from Mexico. It creates these huge thunderheads above the moutains in the east and always ... ALWAYS disapears by the time it reaches the city lights. It's like the ocean creates this strange storm buffer. The lack of weather here is perfect for people who don't like surprise or drama or anything exciting in the sky's. It's perfect for honeymooners and holiday'ers seeking the same sunny disposition day after day. I must admit, although you cannot (and I can't stress that enough) complain about the weather here, because it is alway virtually perfect, I miss seeing the raging clouds in the Alberta skys. Coloured all pink and navy and churning with energy from a Summer day. This last week has been all Break Forth for me (the conference that happens every year in Edmonton) This year I have the opportunity to attend, but I'll have to see if I can afford...

Disneyland and other Delights

Image
Well, this past week we spent visiting with Jay's parents and sister Keely. We met in Anaheim at Disneyland and spent the day taking it all in...that place is pretty whacked, cool, but whacked. Rides we went on? the Runaway train and Splash Mountain (where we got completely soaked, we sat in the front ... ), Space Mountain (which pretty much made me want to get off), Pirates of the Caribbean (where they had numerous life-like representations of Captain Jack Sparrow), we dined in a little themed restaurant called the Golden Horseshoe (which had a live bluegrass band of all things!) and Jay's dad bought me a tiara, which I wore ~ who says you can't be princess for a day =) The day ended with this "Disney after Dark" deal where they place this crazed music and these lite up floats dance before you, and a fireworks display that I'm sure cost as much as a small island. (me and my tiara, in front of the fantasy land castle -- sweetness!) This is taken inside the P...
