Well, it's officially Winter here in Southern California

Image
It's been raining since about 4:30 a.m. and we've already seen near an inch of it. The neat thing about rain here I find, is that it simply pours ~ like an Edmonton downpour in the middle of a thunderstorm that goes for about 10 mins, except here, it goes on for hours. Sometimes harder than others, but mostly, the sky opens up and pours out itself onto the scorched earth. When the pouring cleared a bit, I did venture down to the water, and frankly, the landscape was transformed. Water runoff has created crevasses and sand canyons that belly out into the open waves. Unfortunately, with the run off, there was also alot of garbage littering the beach...just goes to show: All rivers DO run to the ocean. And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." ~ Genesis 1: 6-7

Magnificent Sunset

This has to be truly, one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. The sky was amazing and breath-taking and beautiful. I tried to video a bit ... but I got cut off at the end -- go figure, it's a cheap camera, but whatever =) Enjoy!

An Anniversary & Thanksgiving...

So, I awoke Tuesday morning, and literally, the first thing I thought of was ... "Wow, it's been One Year!" It's officially (yes, the 20th of November) been One year since Jay and I packed our little car and drove west, towards the mountains with everything we then owned, in search of ... whatever we're still searching for Having this blog is cool too, cause I can look back and read my emotions first hand all over again. The amount of things we've experienced in one year has been amazing, joys and falls, and betrayals and tough things, but all through it, the breath of adventure. Of sweet things to come. The glimpse of dreams and memories yet to be played out It's been wild! Although I still (admittedly) go through moments of tired sadness and aches for my family left behind, I am truly grateful to be here One thing that comes to mind. We lived in Canada, and coming to America, has automatically labeled us as "The Canadians", or "Crazy Canad...

Feak Shows (Us, or Them?)

Image
This weekend, we drove up to L.A. to visit Jay's parents as they passed through on their way to Hawaii. Jay's dad had booked a hotel for the night in an area called Inglewood, which we really had no idea about until we got there. If we had liked, we could have gotten a tattoo at "Hard Luck Tattoo" across the street, or there was the "Philthy Ragz" clothing store (I didn't check this out). Let's just say the area was very interesting. Jay and I, (since we had arrived early) decided to go for a bite to eat, and there was a TGIFriday's right on the corner, which we figured was safe enough. (K, Inglewood, people) so we get there, and first off, there is more security there, than at a club show and Jay and I are un-officially the only white people there, (not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that). But seriously, I have never before felt like a minority like that...never mind, after dinner we still had tones of time to kill so we checked out the ROSS...

TODAY is THE DAY!!!

Image
Nov. 9th, 2007 Eleven months and Eleven Days from our exodus from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Almost 2 full years since the process began. IT Arrived That's right, can ya' read it? It say's "VISA" booyah! In all seriousness, this has been one of the biggest (to date) faith walks of my life. I still need to cross over "officially" and there's this envelope that needs to be opened by the US govt. that I am not allowed to open etc., so keep me in your prayers for that. Praise the Lord! I can stay on this soil =) love, a.

Mira-Isabella, part 2

Image
Welcome to the world Mira! Well, this Saturday I went to the hospital to visit Laura and little Mira-Isabella, just 12 hours old! I was captured by her beauty and her "tiny-ness", and I was so glad to be with Laura and help where I could (although I mostly just ooogled Mira) Here are some photos ... enjoy =) Till next blog. a.

Mira Isabella, part One

Well, the time is now =) (as my funky Green T-Shirt states) But in all seriousness, I was going to blog about this great guy we jammed with today (well, actually Jay jammed, I just sat there and sung along in my head). His name is Mike Martinez (not sure if I spelled his last name right) he's 22, and our new drummer. Today was a beautiful gift as we shared our musical goals and decided to give it all a shot, together. It's exciting to know that I believe that we are going to finally give our music a shot, here in So Cal. Just have to pray for a bass player now ... However, God has amazing and impeccable timing. Tonight I got a call from Andy, Laura's water broke tonight, and little Mira Isabella is on her way into the world, in the next 24 hours. My heart can't really contain the width of the emotions I feel. A little selfish sadness, (I won't lie) that Laura will now be a mom, and will have this wonderful responsibility, that will trump all other things. However,...
