the Dangers of Falling Leaves, and other delights

On the 27th San Diego area had a 'winter storm', which really was quite stormy, pass through the area. Us being the 'newbies' in the area decided we wanted to drive to the ocean again to check out the surf, since it'd be just magnificent ... There are a couple new hazzards to enjoy.

Palm leaves are actually like branches that absolutely litter the ground with debris, and when you drive over them it's like you're running over something you shouldn't. and you can't avoid them either!
The winds were INSANE on the coast. The paper reported that they haven't seen winds like that in years. They reached gusts of 40mph (which when you are standing in them, on a rocky coast, is very, very, strong)

When we move into our new little apt. we will be just minutes from these photos. It's right in our neighborhood =)

---------------------------------
On a different note: I am really looking forward to getting into my own space and the reality that we are actually here is beginning to sink in. I know, we've been here for about a month now, you'd think that I'd be onto that point of finality already. But still, everything feels like a new breath, and now that we'll be trying out on our own, it feels even more so.

I'm starting to feel anxious, even though by God's grace I am able to keep my graphics going, and wondering how we'll be able to stay here and pay for living and things. It's a time where, once again, I have to dig deep and trust that God is not going to let us crash and burn here, but uplift us into His will and timing for everything. And I do trust Him, just it can be harder at times =)

We'll be checking out another church this weekend too, the one that we were in contact with when we were still in Canada and I'm REALLY looking forward to that. We will be spending our New Years with a family here who is good friends with the Hayes, they go to a different church as well, but they're really cool. We'll post again then.

Happy New Year All!
