WEEKEND!!!! SISTERS!!!!! YAY!!!!

This weekend marked the advent of Jay's two sisters', Keely and Amanda, coming down to San Diego. They are our first house guests, and the first to see what our life is like here in the Big "S.D". They arrived on Friday afternoon and we've spent the weekend driving about, visiting resorts and beaches and walking and going out to lots of dinners (and myself prob. gaining a couple pounds) but it has been great.
We started the evening at Sunset cliffs for some sightseeing and heading off to Werners' house (our gracious tour guide for the whole weekend!)
and found, halfway down the freeway that a little LIZARD had attached himself to the hood of our Subaru!! He stayed on the WHOLE way there -- I think he was a little shaken... (80miles/hour on the interstate could do that to ya)

We headed out on the town to the Gaslamp district to a couple pubs and walking the streets with all the other foriegn Friday nighters.

Saturday we went to Cornado Island, (a man made isle, see bridge we had to cross to get there) a VERY poshy type place, with cute but ritzy character. We visited the world famous Hotel Del Coronado and checked out the weird creepiness of it all. The building reminded me alot of the movie Titanic, lots of deep red wood paneling and chandeliers, and old crazy elevators...

the beach located outside the hotel is in the top 10 beaches in the world, and boasts a good view of open ocean and the tip of Point Loma (which is all military at the end)

We then went to scripps beach in La Jolla (pronounced La Hoiya) and just stared at the ocean and eventually the sunset, I could stay on the beach all day.

Today (Sunday) we took them to our church and spent the day relaxing and took in Pizza Nova for supper (for which now I am seriously heart-burning)

Jay has a job interview tomorrow for this great acoustic guitar shop close-by our house, so I will be praying about that...but tonight my heart is truly warmed and strengthened by some good news, which i'll share in a later blog.

Till next blog -- =) a.
