Hanging onto life by a three corded rope

I went to a wedding once, (I'm pretty sure it wasn't mine) where the pastor spoke about rope. How, as we go through life with our spouse, we are intertwined with our partner, in the fashion of a rope. The rope is somewhat o.k., but rather shaky and easily undone by pressure. However, if we were interlocked and braided with Christ, as we went through life, we would be stronger in the face of any circumstances, because we have woven God into our chain of life.

I don't know why I've never forgotten that ananlogy, but I can safely say that I am certainly thinking of it today.

Today, I felt like a bomb went off in my life, and after the commotion, I am still, hanging on. Now, I could be slighly melodramatic, but here's the situation:

  • I have been trying to nurse to health a certain problem of the feminine kind, for the last three days, in the hopes that I will NOT have to go to the doctor here and have to spend over $100 on the visit and treatment (I'm not kidding, it's that much).
  • Jay and I have been trying (with seeminly NO success whatsoever) to find an apt. in Carlsbad, close to his work for UNDER $1200. (Seriously, all the places you go to require that you clear 3times the rent every month in earnings, I would like to know who the heck does??) With only one income here, it's proved tough, still we're on the case and actively seeking, infact we'll be driving down tomorrow to check out a place by the ocean for $1100.
  • My mom's husband Ed is going in for triple-bypass surgery this Friday after suffereing what they call a "mini-heart-attack" two weeks ago. (Please, if you pray, remember them) and I have been feeling the pains of being far from family.
  • As many of you know, I've sent my VISA stuff AND my passport to Montreal, in the hopes and expectation that they'll pop my visa in the passport, send it to my mom and I'll be done with it. I heard from them this morning that they are needing yet ANOTHER piece of paperwork, (which I had actually already gotten, but has gotten lost in the mail) so I'm having to have it RE-sent to me and then SEND it to Montreal... I'm hoping this is the end, but when I got their email this morning, I admit, I kind of lost it mentally.

Among dealing with church situations and life and work, I was feeling overwhelmed.

Again, and again and AGAIN, I can't believe the amout of shit that we have to go through, but again and again, and, AGAIN I turn to God.

Today I was drawn to James 1:1-5, :where it talks about being tested and that is how our characters are molded and shaped...

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Anyways, I am in need of wisdom, for so many things, and I ask God to give it to me, and I expect it.

So there-fore

I am hanging, from a rope, but intertwined with God, who gives all wisdom and strength to those who ask.
