So, I thought I was sort of done blogging about Christmas stuff, but we got an AMAZING present yesterday and, ofcourse, I have to blog about it!

We were invited by Mike from church to the "Pacific Life holiday bowl" with his girlfriend Alyssa and a group from church who had tickets. This is College Football, I'm not sure if it's a championship or what ... but it was Texas against Arizona State. It was certainly exciting enough to go to Qualacomm (neither of us had been yet) to see a game, but we had NO idea what was in store!


There were so many people going, we had parked and taken a trolley but it took SEVEN trains till we could actually get on ... they kept showing up to our station FULL of people who had boarded stations before us ... crazy. Finally we got to the game JUST at the right time! Now, the display of patriotism was def. something else.


Not only did they have a troop of marines run across the field with a GINORMOUS American Flag, but then they had a young marine girl sing the national Anthem and right at the part where she's singing "the land of the Free ... " Four Fighter Jets screamed across the sky right over the stadium and they let off fireworks, ofcourse, the last part of the song was completely lost in the noise, it was crazy. Still not the best part tho! So, right about half time the guy who had gotten the tickets, his mom comes up to where we're sitting and asks us if we want to go down onto the field for the halftime show -- INSANE!!!
We were given these field passes and got to down the "Press Only" elevators and down onto the turf!! The excitement of the moment was incredible -- there were marching bands, and fireworks timed to "Salute to the 70's" so, DISCO. We got to stay down there till the kick off of the third quarter.




We also got to see all the "Behind the Scenes" TV Cameras, photo journalists, not to mention all the Football players and the band instruments -- Jay took this one specially for his mom =) prob. brings back some memories =)


Needless to say, a day to remember -- I felt like God just gave us a kiss and said "Here is a gift for you".

The American craze with football is totally foreign to me -- it all looked crazy and awesome.

If I ever wondered if HE loved me

So, I'm going to admit how pathetic and "of little faith" I can be with this post. Of course, there needs to be a bit of prelude-type explanation. On Nov. 20th my husband and I will celebrate a special anniversary -- 4 years since leaving our home -- the only one we've known in Sherwood Park, Canada -- and driving, with only our car, clothes and guitars across the border and down, down, down to San Diego, California. (that's 1751 miles south) Our reason for the move was to pursue our music, our mission and our dreams and just a new life, pioneers of sorts. It would take me many blogs to say how many times God has shown me his love through the whole process, from easy stops at border crossings, to precisely timed Visa interviews, to lenient border guards, to miracles in paperwork and finding jobs, it is astounding how He has continually provided for us, and continually strengthens my faith through circumstance. Studio Feb 13th . 2010

So this weekend we went into the studio, Ground Level Sound, in Vista, CA to track drums for our album ... we did four songs yesterday and began one today (Unwanted Man, shown above), but then our producers computer crashed (!!!), so we had to leave early (only one hour after we got there) and he is now in the process as I type of retrieving the files that were lost when his drive became corrupt =(, I feel mostly bad for him, as he literally had a whole month of projects in jeopardy. I've racked my brain a bit today as to why this would have happened, and I have no answers, we're a bit deflated but all the more excited about getting these tracks done. We don't know if our songs from yesterday are o.k. or not yet, but we'll keep you posted, if all goes well, we'll be back at the studio to finish up. Please keep us in your prayers, for the completion of the tracks and album, and our producer too, Alan, his father in law is in the hospital right now with a broken neck...
