Two Coffee Tuesday

Sooooooo, sorry for the lag in posting ... I've had an interesting last week and a bit. Work is still slow for me, I'm applying for jobs and hoping at some point something will take root. I'm beginning to wonder if my portfolio (and it's "Christian" content) has anything to do with the lack of calls ... in which case I would say "ppffffttttt" to them anyways, but it does make me wonder if people down here peg me as "one of THOSE" and leave me be ... I guess I wouldn't want to work for someone like that anyways, all things considered. Anywhoo, stuff to ponder.

I am working on a website right now for a co. back in Canada, which is reminding me EVERY day why it is I choose mostly to NOT work on websites (they are giant pains in the rears). But I'm committed to the project, of course, so it'll get done.


I spent the weekend cleaning my home and Andy and Laura came over on Sunday, which was super nice, to see them again.

Today is supposed to be really warm out (72 on the beach) so, I'll be making my way down there at some point soon to just lay there and relax ~ because I've been so crazy busy lately ... (not)
lol, you know, I'm just going to have to laugh, cause there is simply nothing else productive to do...

Oh, so VERY exciting news for me!!!!! So, some of you may know (some not) that I've been writing songs for the last year and a bit, and just recording crappy demos on my laptop. This last weekend Jay took a listen to some and we're going to record them "proper-like" in Pro-Tools and start gigging with them and some tasteful covers (hopefully) a la Carole King, Jefferson Airplane, maybe Hole etc.


It is such a dream of mine to be able to take these songs and thoughts that have been in my head for the last year and actually bring them to fruition somewhat ... I'm exciting to see how they turn out and what Jay will do with them. Some of them are "Christian" some are not, all are from my brain. =) There's no hiding now I guess! That's the most thrilling part of my life at present.

So, have a wonderful week ... I'll try to post something more interesting later -- maybe this week I'll get a job!

There has been a lot of emotion for me the last couple days ~ it's hard to describe to someone who doesn't understand. If I ever wondered if HE loved me

So, I'm going to admit how pathetic and "of little faith" I can be with this post. Of course, there needs to be a bit of prelude-type explanation. On Nov. 20th my husband and I will celebrate a special anniversary -- 4 years since leaving our home -- the only one we've known in Sherwood Park, Canada -- and driving, with only our car, clothes and guitars across the border and down, down, down to San Diego, California. (that's 1751 miles south) Our reason for the move was to pursue our music, our mission and our dreams and just a new life, pioneers of sorts. It would take me many blogs to say how many times God has shown me his love through the whole process, from easy stops at border crossings, to precisely timed Visa interviews, to lenient border guards, to miracles in paperwork and finding jobs, it is astounding how He has continually provided for us, and continually strengthens my faith through circumstance. Today I have a bad attitude. It's not even like I have a really good excuse, in fact they are pretty pitiful but I'll share. I have this pretty uncanny ability to wake up RIGHT at my alarm ... I'm not talking in the general vicinity of when it goes off, by 5 or 10 mins ... this morning, I literally woke up walked to my phone and my alarm went off, that's like 30 seconds early. So, you would think the morning is off to a good start. I worked out and thought about sitting on my couch with my warm and fuzzy latte in hand and got to the fridge, only to realize that my darling husband had used all the milk. This is not a big deal (or it shouldn't be) but we actually really had no real food anyways, no eggs, not even a bun or toast, so my breakfast hiatus from my day was thwarted. Never fear, I can get food at work - no biggie. So, work is work. I drive, I arrive. It's corporate, and now, thanks to our inter-office move, ridiculously quiet. And it's good, none ...
