A little Self Exposure

How hard it is to be content --

You woudn't think that's the case, because content seems that it would be, not as "good" as being "happy", a safer bet infact (because you dont' have to be happy to be content) Being content (according to dictionary.com) is being satisfied, satisfied with what one is or has; not wanting more or anything else.

So, how hard is that?

Oftentimes I find myself falling into the play of not being content, feeling like I'm needing something else, wanting indeed, something more (or less) than I have. It's VERY easy to do. For perfect example; yesterday at work I was grumbling about my job. I was bummed because one of the more "creative" area's of my job (designing our Point of Purchase posters for new foods) was getting trumped by an agency and their idea of a "cleaner more sophisticated" (and I'll add here, BORING) look to enhance their photographs. Normally, it's really whatever, but for some reason i felt SO stripped, and over-ruled, not to mention that now, there is almost nothing that I could have creative control over here at the almighty JC. BOO! I was saddened by corporate America and counting down the days till I could start to look for an agency job where I could truly have my wee-artistic heart satisfied and blossom.

I let it ruin my morning somewhat. In a time when I should be SO thankful to even HAVE a job in the first place, I found myself complaining about mine, when really I have NOTHING to complain about...not content =) I bet God is saddened by hearts that complain -- that don't carry the faith that they are being taken care of and have an ally above ALL that will stand up for their interests, their hopes and dreams.

Sometimes I forget how He holds us in the palm of His hand. How He is my true Father. How He loves me more than I can comprehend. How could I not be content with that?

On the flip side, i feel VERY thankful today and I wondering how I can capture this moment and make it last. A girl that I work wtih brought in oranges from her neighbors yard. Wee little wrinkly things, with the leaves still on them, but when you peeled the rind back they were just as plump and juicy and sweet as anything store bought, just without the fancy packaging. I hope I live like that, I hope when I get wrinkly, I'm still very sweet on the inside =)

Till next blog ~ love, a.
