So, let's catch up shall we?
oh my goodness!! I seriously haven't felt this busy is quite a bit! It's the kind of busy which makes my eyes tired and my head fuzzy ... which isn't a good thing, but I had a pretty productive day today so I suppose it makes things worthwhile -- in some frame of mind.
So, let the catch up begin!
This last week has been a blurr of working and driving to studios (both Alan's and Cedricks) to listen to tracks, get tracks, make revisions and listen some more. We got the first real mix of one song from Cedrick on Monday and I have to say -- I listened to it oh, over 20 times. The first time I heard it, i cried ... I just couldn't believe that we sounded like that, and I had this crazy well up in my heart and I just praised God (I know that sounds lame, but that's what I did) because I can't believe how things are FINALLY seeming to come together. It was also a reminder tho, that we have a long road ahead ... everytime we drive to a studio it seems like an instant metaphor for this whole process ... it's good though, I feel thankful every step of the way.
We are going to see Cedrick tonight to give him another song ... there are a couple issues with the first one which we need to address, but overall it's sounding amazing and I can't even begin to say how so excited I am to be working on all of this. It scares me a bit though because we now sound larger than life. I don't know how we'll play live, or what that will look like anymore... I feel like this could blow the doors open for us -- I pray that it does ... for everyone in the band, it feels like our only shot, and though I try to keep it in perspective, I am expectant as well. Sort of reminds me of when Mary had baby Jesus the Shepherds had visited and praised God and then went out and began to speak of the new King (from Luke 1: "19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. "... my heart is treasuring up all these things and taking joy and thanking God every step of the way.
We will be heading to Canada in a week!! Oh my goodness, one week and I will be there ... it's going to be so strange, it's been 2.5 years since I've been there ... there will be familiarities and strangeness all at once ... the most bizarre thing about life right now, not only am I preparing to visit people who I haven't seen in 2 years, more years than that for some -- this week, TWO ladies that I had known back in Canada (one of whom I still work with through Break Forth) have come to San Diego (!!) So, we're having dinner tomorrow night and this weekend I should be meeting up with another old friend ... so weird, that all in a space of two weeks, so many people can be reunited over distance. I can't help but think this is all happening for a reason, for God's timing is perfect -- I would like (LOVE) to think it's because there will be a time when we won't be able to go home, because of music and ministry -- good things ofcourse, not bad (that would be heartbreaking) but we can never know the plans that He has prepared for us. Only cling to Him and His word evermore.
I pray that I can do that ~ always.
