Office Living

Well, last week my supervisor and I @ JC moved from our upstairs green fuzzy walled cubical living, to an office that had opened up downstairs in the same building. We became the envy of all the marketing dept. and encountered some opposition, but we made it down, moved into our desks and set up the plants on the window sill. I guess this is the pinnacle for corporate life.

My own office, with my own space, windows and plants, picture frames and privacy. It's a bit weird to get used to ~ and I do feel a bit guilty since there are sooo many people in my dept. who really deserve an office -- need an office. But we are technically sharing I guess ... and now I do feel officially cut off from the rest of the world, I can't help but think that this is what my "super" kind of was hoping for -- it's a bit strange ~ but whatever ... I'm enjoying this, but not putting stock in it ... I don't want "this" to be a status symbol for me (which sounds ridiculous, but I think that's how some people think of it) like, once you get an office, "you've arrived". I don't want to arrive here -- I want this to be just a stop on my way somewhere else.

Speaking of somewhere else; I do feel like we are moving along with our music. I wish that our family and friends shared the same enthusiasm that we have for what this is. Sometimes I think people don't quite get it. I guess it sounds like a pipe dream, but doors are opening already and we don't even have anything to offer yet, except I keep listening to our first mix of our first song. Jay has completed all the extra guitar recording and now it's all up to our mixer -- he has done SUCH an amazing job so far. (Please keep him, Cedrick and us/the music/the people in your prayers) But one thing after another comes up and again, in my mind, it's seeming to take forever and a day, but it's patience, and more patience that I am being taught. And I am no different of a person whether this thing gets big or not, so I need to remember that. So easy we stumble, so easy we slide. It's a slippery slope either way. I remind myself to cling white knucked to God's words, written and tattooed on my heart -- permanently reminding me to be still, and know that He is God.

I am also so very slowly recovering from being sick for (serious) almost two looong weeks. I've had this dang cough that has kept me up and bothered for days and days, and it's been driving me crazy, though today is the first day I've felt free from tickles in my throat -- I am so thankful. I went for a run on Monday morning (after hacking and during hacking) but I tell you, it was the first time in days and so many days I felt, UNsick. and I prayed for healing. Now I am receiving that =)

Jay and I lead worship this weekend solo. I've worked into the schedule every month one weekend where we give the rest of the team a break and handle things ourselves. It makes for a more intimate time, but also more freedom. When I am not worrying about our team making transitions and following our lead I feel the freedom to really enter in -- i am praying for that this weekend too. Our little church plant just celebrated it's 1 year anniversary, and can you believe in a little over a month it will be a year since we have been leading there!! Time just seems to fly, I am sooo very thankful for our willing and beautifully humble team. When we had our anniversary I got a photo (see below) so you can see our crew =)

Have a blessed rest of your week ~ Till next blog~
love, a.
