Thirty Three ...
So, in celebratory fashion this weekend Jay and I went to NAMM in Anaheim for the weekend. NAMM is the largest music industry trade show in North America and it's very hard to get in, you literally need to have a "connect" in some way. So, ours this year was Buffalo Bros =) We had arranged with Cedrick to meet on Friday night. He was able to get us into the first big afterparty for the conference~ Dean Guitars @ this giant club in Anaheim called The Grove. We were going to stay the night and take in the conference all day Saturday, then also had an in to the next big party (which interestingly enough was ALSO @ The Grove) put on by Schecter Guitars.
The first drama of the evening, which turned out to be a great blessing in disguise =) in the wonderful way that God truly works. Our hotel room ended up being double booked, by no fault of ours, the hotel ended up booking another room for us (farther away in a different hotel) and PAYING for it, so our one night in Anaheim was FREE (!) yay =)
So, Friday night we were with Cedrick and he introduced us to quite a few connections, which could or could not prove to be anything ~ but as Cedrick "schmoozed" and did his business, we were able to hang out, and we got to see this pretty much Iconic Heavy Metal Band called Megadeth ~ which will proove to be of good use in a moment =)
So, we arrived @ NAMM Saturday morning and immediately went to check out amps for Jay and the band. Cedrick came along and they played full volume in a specially set up sound proof booth. So many cool things happened, but the highlights for me?
Getting photo opps with BOTH the bass player AND iconic Lead Singer from Megadeth (!!)
After an amazing day of hangin out and meeting some good old friends (Jay ended up seeing Byron!, yes, from Mhyres' Music) among others. We headed to the next afterparty (same place) and had a really good hang out with our drummer Mike ~
All in all an AMAZING weekend ~ here are some pics from the weekend =)
