Come Holy Spirit ...
Well, the world does not stop! Aside from being busy beyond belief right now, I am trying desperately to slow, put God first and rest in who He is.
A quick house update -- I took the last two days off work to SAND like a mad woman — the door frames, base boards and chair boards of our home—while both Jay and I did more cleaning, puttying and preparing of our home than I ever thought humanly possible! I can say we have intimate knowledge now of our little home =) Everytime I run my hands over our walls, I know they have been given to me, they're mine for now =) It's a pretty cool feeling. We decided to bring some painters in, instead of doing it ourselves, I think this will save time and our sanity, lol ... but all kidding aside, Jay and I make a pretty good team ;) I've got some fun stuff to post and ofcourse more pictures.
But on another note, and the point of this blog. Our sermon this week at church was about listening to God, and whether He really does speak to us or not (whether in an audible voice, through his word, through people etc.) and Pastor Chris had asked me to share a time when God had spoken to me ... honestly, though now I can think of a multitude of times He has spoken to my heart. The state of my life right now, in the middle of busy-ness etc, I couldn't think, and I was feeling kind of "meh" about it, and planning the set.
When I awoke on Thurs. morning, I found our good friend Murray's song stuck in my head, "Come Holy Spirit", and I thought of His story of the song (when you miss God's prescence so much and you need to hear from Him, you're dry and weary) and how that's kind of how I felt. Not that I think God is far from me, but maybe I am not seeking Him as much as I should, and how that song, just speaks to my heart, how I yearn for His presence in the midst of everything to settle me, keep me sane.
So we did the song at church on Sunday and I did share just a wee bit -- and I recorded it in my pooey iPhone so we could share it with you =) (I hope the link works...) This is in the morning at practice (so there is chatter and stuff a bit) and just Jay and me ... but the song spoke and Murray, we thank you for writing it!! We Love you!!
