DIVE Day One

I can't even begin to really digest all that's taken place so far in just the 3 hours that we've "officially" spent.  But I will try.

First, my flight was actually alright. I hate flying (capital H), but, this flight was pretty quick and besides a few bumps, pretty painless ... I sat next to a  Canadian (of all people) and a lady from Oceanside, so it was like being sandwiched between my two very different, but very familiar worlds.

When I arrived I was picked up at the airport by Janelle, the cutest, bubbliest girl I've met in a long while. She has this pixie quality and a soft spoken giggly charm that makes you smile at everything she says. We waited in the van for another girl who was arriving from Florida, and there was one other DIVE girl in the van from New Jersey.  We spent about an hour talking and getting to know one another, and the cool thing about girls, especially those that share a heart and love for the Lord, you can just be real, open up with them and it's like you've always known one another.

That's definitely the feeling here.  There are only 8 of us all together, one of the smallest groups I guess that Rita's done, but as we learned tonight from Rita, we were all handpicked (by them but by direction from the Lord) to be there, for this season and this timing.

We had dinner at 6 at Rita's home and afterwards we all sat in her (amazing and very "anthropology" style living room) and she shared with us a bit about DIVE, what the school is about and just a bit about what we would be doing in the next week.

After she spoke a bit about how God led her with the school (btw, Rita is extreeeemly prophetic and such an amazing woman of God, I always got that sense from her music, which is why I loved her so much, but sitting across from her listening to her heart and vision and listening to her speak into and over us, was really something else, I'm going to have to start getting used to that, lol, sorry, aside).   So after she shared about DIVE she started to say that she would begin the next part of orientation by going about the room and getting the girls to share why we were here.  However, tonight, instead, she said that God told her to do it.  (which sounds crazy I know, but she's cool like that) so, the next hour and bit, she talked with each one of us and told us, what God told her about why we were here ... I seriously wanted to cry through the whole thing, lol, it was all so beautiful and you could just FEEL the spirit in the room, it was like everytime she would would speak over a girl, my heart would beat quickly and it was like my spirit was agreeing and praising with her spirit at the revelations of it all.

I won't share too much about the girls, but I will share what she said to me (as best as I can remember).  She started with everyone, with a word, a single word that God had given her for each one, and mine was different (haha, I know, you are laughing already). She said that I was just different, different, transparent and versatile.  I was brutally real about everything, but able to adapt to situations and just be (which does sound like me I suppose) ... she also told me that I had some real joy but that God wants to bring me some pretty major healing this week. That there have been circumstances that have not been what he really wanted for me, and it grieves his heart that it's hurt me, because I have had a deep hurt, but this week will be a time for some real healing to take place. Which is super cool because I have felt that, but I think it's even going to surprise me how He works ... what He will heal.

When I got to my hotel room (another aside, I am rooming with one other girl, Maria from Indiana, who I already love). I had a gift bag and a card from Rita ... which reads the following

Amy, welcome to DIVE
Destiny! Destiny!
God has this for you.
A Destiny. This is a week for you to become certain of who He is and what He is saying in this Season!

So, that's kind of it for Day One ... it's only 8 p.m. and I feel pretty bagged :P ... but I will try to keep up the bloggin ... Till the next one! love, a.
