I wanted to post a small one so everyone knows that the show went reeeeely well -- though, truth be told, I've listed to the recording we made of the show and there is LOTS of room for improvement for me (inparticular). So, it's about 7 hours till we hit the stage at the Royal Dive ... I'm sitting at my desk, in my little "unknown" cubical fighting the tingling of butterflies that are invading my stomach. And it's funny because I had similar feelings two weeks ago, but for a COMPLETELY different reason. Two weeks ago, my mom was flying in the next day and I was all totally excited and nervous about her arrival, but it was a happy nervous. And, this is a happy nervous too ... but I feel so jittery...I can't concentrate, I keep looking at the clock in the top right corner of my computer and watch the minutes tick by incredibly slowly... Sooo slowly! I feel really prepared for tonight though, infact at our usual practice on Wednesday I really came away with the concrete feeling that we couldn't possibly be more prepared than we are right now, for this show. It's our official Debut, I hope and pray that this is the beginning of something wonderful, big and something that ...

So, hold onto your hats, there's going to be two blogs today =) My mom was just here for the last week!!! Was SOOOO much fun! I'm going to post a bunch of pics soon, but wanted to share this funny and juicy, and also, UNrelated tid-bit: We are playing our first show this coming Friday and I'm attaching the handbill for it -- I get a special kick from it, because one -- there's a naked but somehow oddly tasteful woman on the front ... second -- the band we're playing with makes for an amusing (to say the least) read for the headline ... and third -- it's our first OFFICIAL handbill in SoCal!!!! I'll let you guys be the judge! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for Friday -- protection, focus and anointing. Love, A!

This weekend we spent many hours at a small office/convert to studio recording our official demo with the guys. The sessions went pretty smoothly, with the setup and getting the sound on Friday night, recording all 6 songs that we have (plus roughing a cover and a new tune) on Sat. I felt pretty good about the whole experience, and I'm looking forward to seeing what our producer-friend can do with the tunes We recorded live off the floor. All the guys in one section and myself in the other room. 8 tracks at once (4 on drums, 1 guitar, 1 bass, 1 vocal and 1 room mic). Here are some photos from the weekend. So -- it's Wednesday again =) But that's not why I'm blogging! I've been having strange days the last little bit. Been coming down from the hype of last week, where everything was insane ... then not so much. This week's been a lot quieter, but very full of "inner" things. The steady feeling like things are beginning to shift. Like I'm sailing on a boat and all of a sudden the wind is starting to blow, ever so gently in a direction that I can't quite feel yet and I'm beginning to drift in a direction that I originally wanted to go, but now that I'm beginning the journey I'm not so sure anymore. The Unknown. I've been dreaming like crazy ... interesting and unusual dreams ranging from talking with the Devil and being pushed up a slide by God (no kidding) to getting on stage and not having a voice to sing, or even talk with ... and I think it's boiling down to a case of the "I don't think I can's" when it comes ...
