Hillsong

I wanted to blog about this yesterday because I didn't want to forget or lose the depth of the experience that this weekend was. BUT -- I couldn't bring myself to turn my computer on =) I just wanted to remain"unplugged" (from the "real world") and "tuned-in" (to the spirit and His work) for just a little more. Ofcourse, life bleeds back in, like water soaking back into a sponge that's been wrung out. So, as I am working this evening, I thought I'd write. The worship, was ofcourse, spectacular, all encompasing, and there is really nothing like worshipping with THOUSANDS of people, with hearts on fire for God, the Spirit feels tangible like fine strings of light and love stretching and swirlling around hands and hearts. I've never stretched my fingers up so high to heaven, never have sung so that I felt like what was in my heart wasn't humanly possible to come out of just my vocal chords ... like I wanted to leave the confines of my...
I feel almost giddy with excitement!! Just 4 more hours of clock-killin' here @ JC and I'm off, with my two favorite California girls (Laura and Kaytee) to the Hillsong Conference in Anaheim!! yay =) (I can't believe I just typed that!!) It's been such a crazy two weeks, SO full of work, and more work, and no Jay =(. Being solo for the week (and I'm only half-way through) has made me realize a couple of things ... a) I have very poor eating habits, as in, if I don't have someone to cook for and with, I literally don't really eat supper ... I just sort of "snack" (or graze as some would say) for like 1/2 an hour on odds and ends till I feel sort of full. In fact, I didn't realize how "scheduled" my life is when there's someone else in the house. When it's back to me only, I sort of have a weird absence of time accountability thing going on. Which brings me to the next thing I've realized b) left to my own self, I am an abso...

Night ONE

Image
Well, it's night one of being by myself for a whole week. I doubt I'll do a post every night, just really feeling like I have nothing to do ... tho I have a bit of work, I am ofcourse, procrastinating ... waiting until Jay calls me too, to make sure he got there safe. Then I think I'm going to bed. I realize I'm a pretty pathetic single person. The moment I got home today from work, the house felt strangely quiet (and I realize after all my high-horsing about getting rid of cable, that cable TV would be a nice addition right about now ... ) but instead, I ate some chocolate ice cream and marvelled at how I didn't have to cook supper if I didn't feel like it (but really I should cause otherwise, all I'd have to eat for supper is ice cream .. not so good) So I did cook a bit ... and spent the rest of the night working and surfing around on the internet (since, we dont' have cable). it's a strange feeling to have Jay gone. that weird "I can tell th...
Well, I've just made myself a fresh coffee in our "office coffee place" I guess, the water cooler area of what is the hub of those things here in the office. I have to admit, I thought today was going to be crazy ... but, so far so good=) My supervisor is gone for three days to Vegas and left me holding down the fort here. Usually when that happens one of two things takes place, either I am crazy busy with a billion things to do all by myself ... or I have some moments of reprieve and I don't get hassled because, well, I am the only person here in CS. So right now, that's what's shakin. I wanted to blog because I feel like there' alot going on and needs to be said. Jay's going to be flying up to Canada w/ the fam. next Tues. already =( I am cool with it, though wonder how I'll do all by me'lonesome! I think the thing that will be most hard will be sleeping alone ... and also knowing that Jay will be visiting with all our friends and family ...

tell me this does NOT look like "09"!! This was breakfast this morning =) Before heading to church I made eggs adn this is what came of it ... pretty crazy ,,, we thought about keeping it and trying to sell it on ebay (haha, just kidding) Today @ church I lead childrens worship, for the second time ever, but it was the FIRST time I have ever played guitar and sang at the same time while leading the children -- it was AMAZING!! We sang three songs, the first, Jesus Loves Me ... than I taught them the chorus "I love you Lord, and I lift my voice ..." and then sang them a "new" song which is actually not that new, though I don't think that anyone has heard it down here. It's a Kathryn Scott song called " You gave your life away" and that's pretty much the chorus, I had the kids singing it and it was beautiful ... I wish I could record their little voices!! So precious. This whole weekend has been quite amazing, a WONDERFUL wedding on Fr...

This is a rare glimpse into my "cube" at work ... it will make sense at the end of this post =) I'd like to preface this post by writing that so often, we do live in reverse (so to speak) that "hindsight is 20/20 when it comes to life, and why some things work out and some do not, and some need to wait, while others happen right away. Allow me to explain. Months back Jay and I were excitedly planning for a trip up to Canada, a road trip where we'd be driving up, see the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park and then collect some of the things we had left up in Canada and drive back down. I was SO excited about it, for a couple reasons, of course the fact that we can visit family and friends. It would also just so happen that my good friend Em (who is right now expecting their first long awaited child) would be in Alberta at the same time and we'd be able to visit and spend time. However, THEN came the whole "we can buy a house" deal (or, so w...

I guess life always ebbs and flows. I had lunch today with my friend KT and she said something so profound to me. We were talking about life and circumstance and how both of us sort of feel like we're in a "holding" pattern, like everything in life right now is on hold and just "wait". House situation -- wait Band situation -- wait Work situation -- show up, work really hard, but wait One could get tired of all the apparent, waiting, however, KT told me, in her young wisdom, that life ebbs and flows like that, like waves come flooding into the sand, but then totally retreat, so it seems with life. Every once in a while things will flood in, overflow, and then nothing. Though work for me has been busy, i can't help but sort of feel like and wonder infact, if it's sort of distracting me from some stuff that I should really be focusing on. And then, what that really should be. Jay will be flying up to Canada without me in about a month. I will def. miss him...
